Global Purchase to Pay Lead at SHV Energy
As a member of the Global Procurement Team, the Purchase to Pay Lead will contribute to maximizing performance and value by executing improvement initiatives in collaboration with Business and Category Managers.
This role is essential for driving organizational change through enhancing capabilities related to People, Processes, Tools, and Systems, ensuring the Procurement function consistently delivers high performance in the area of Purchase to Pay.
This position is responsible for designing and implementing the excellence roadmap across all P2P sub-processes. The role requires close collaboration with local Procurement and Finance teams, as well as other internal departments (e.g., Digital & Analytics, Ethics and Compliance), to improve maturity in the workstream and achieve organizational Free Cash Flow targets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Define the Purchase to Pay roadmap for 2025 onwards and drive and measure maturity improvement within BUs and categories
Develop and ensure the implementation of a digital and operational roadmap within this workstream.
Re-assess the maturity evaluation approach in alignment with Business Units (BUs).
Review and enhance current P2P KPIs and develop new ones as necessary to measure critical performance metrics such as Free Cash Flow.
Identify, evaluate, and support the priorities and targets for 2025 and beyond P2P KPIs with the BU Head of Procurement.
Conduct root cause analysis on recurrent issues and discrepancies to establish a sustainable process and actively seek ways to assist BUs in closing the GAP to target (e.g., Opportunity Assessment, process optimization, change management program, or other best practices).
Develop reporting tools and oversee the global P2P Performance Control System (PCS).
2. Lead Purchase to Pay process improvement within the organization
Act as the Global Process Owner (GPO) for Purchase to Pay, ensuring the effectiveness of processes and tools in collaboration with other relevant departments (Audit, IT, Ethics and Compliance, Operations, etc.).
Identify areas for improvement in the End-to-End P2P process flow, implementing changes to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance accuracy.
Drive automation and digitization initiatives within the P2P function.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practices to streamline P2P operations.
Manage supplier relationships with key partners in scope.
Create and establish regular checks on procurement policies, guidelines, methodologies, and processes.
Ensure the P2P process complies with internal policies, external regulations, and financial controls.
Monitor risk areas and gaps in procurement processes by reviewing audit reports and proactively identifying risk mitigation plans and corrective actions to continuously optimize process performance (in connection with BSF).
Responsible for the P2P process roll-out and change management program at Head Quarters.
Responsible for P2P KPI improvement such as Spend under coverage, PO before fact, and Payment on-time at Head Quarters.
3. Be an ambassador of procurement and create relevant communications with all levels of stakeholders within the organization
Serve as an advocate for Procurement across the business, fostering open and constructive relationships with key stakeholders.
Act as a liaison between SHV Holding (Procurement Excellence) and BUs to communicate about the roadmap and new global agreements related to P2P.
4. Lead People Capability development
Identify areas of improvement, capture and implement lessons learned.
Train procurement and stakeholders teams on tools and systems implemented.
Share best practices and maintain an "outside-in" perspective at SHV Energy.
Job requirements
What we are looking for:
University degree or MBA level; understanding of different industries, businesses and cultures.
3+ years Procurement experience or in other business and finance roles, preferably in different organizations.
Strong understanding of P2P processes (SME) with focus on functional excellence, best practices, tools and competences.
Experience with P2P Software (like SAP, Microsoft or Business Central) or other Business applications (like Jaggaer).
Excel in driving performance and deadline commitment.
Proven experience in process improvement and change management.
Excellence attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Problem-solving skills and data-driven mindset (strong analytical skills).
Curiosity for new digital tools.
Source to Contract experience is a plus.
Fluent in English.
Awork & residence permit for the Netherlands.
International experience, working with and in different cultures.
Working Experience in organizations at different levels of maturity, from start-up, structuring to mature.
Experience in decentralized organizations.
Willingness to travel (estimated around 20%-30%).
